Retail Birmingham continues to deliver relevant and engaging marketing campaigns under our consumer brand name

We have appointed the Birmingham-based agency Gung Ho to create an exciting and eye-catching campaign to attract visitors to the city centre throughout the year. The plus campaign shouts that Birmingham ‘has it all’, from big brands to boutique stores.

Campaign imagery is used to create digital campaigns through key trading points of the year including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Eid, Father’s Day and Christmas.

In addition to marketing campaigns we have also introduced family trails to the city centre. In 2018 the BID funded the ‘Big In The City Dinosaur Trail’ working with Birmingham City Council’s Parks & Nurseries Department to make seven topiary dinosaurs an eye-catching, colourful attraction for families.

They were unveiled at the same time as the highly-anticipated arrival of Dippy the Dinosaur at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and were located at key sites to encourage footfall across the whole of the retail area. The Trail Map was developed by Retail BID for visitors to be able to hunt down all dinosaurs.

In 2019 Retail BID brought PAW Patrol Brick Trail to the city.

The stunning spectacle, featured 21 characters and buildings from the hit Nick Jr. show, built by BRICKLIVE from brightly coloured toy bricks and placed around the city centre retail district from 6 November 2019 until January 6, 2020.

The hugely successful trail encouraged families to seek out all the installations and then post their completed trail map to win shopping vouchers. The trail encouraged thousands of visitors to explore Birmingham city centre.
