Promoting The City

Retail Birmingham continues to deliver relevant and engaging marketing campaigns under our consumer brand name

We have appointed the Birmingham-based agency Gung Ho to create an exciting and eye-catching campaign to attract visitors to the city centre throughout 2017 and for the Christmas shopping period.

The BID is continuing its support for the popular Big Sleuth charity bears trail, the follow up to the Big Hoot, which brought in thousands of extra visitors to the city centre.

We secured the support of popular TV adventurer Bear Grylls for the trail, along with celebrated Birmingham artist Temper who, after his success during the Big Hoot, will be returning to help raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and add his own unique style to the sculptures.

The Eid shopping campaign promotes menswear, beauty and childrenswear and ensures Birmingham city centre shopping is at the forefront of shoppers’ minds. Visuals are inline with the new branding created by Gung Ho. The campaign includes outdoor, digital and social media.

The summer of 2017 will also see the city centre’s first Beauty Weekender, a showcase for the 100+ beauty brands available in Birmingham, with demonstrations, promotions and special retail offers.

This is a first for Birmingham city centre where all department stores and beauty stores have come together for the Big Beauty Weekender.

We will continue to publish our popular Edit magazine to share city centre news and events and raise the profile of BID member businesses.
