The Oyster Club by Adam Stokes opens on Temple Street

Multi-award-winning chef Adam Stokes has opened his second restaurant in the Retail BID.

Called the Oyster Club, the Temple Street restaurant – next door to The Ivy – offers a casual and relaxed approach to dining and specialises in ‘quality fish and seafood’.

The Michelin-starred chef is owner of Adam’s restaurant on Waterloo Street.

His new restaurant specialises in oysters served from a dedicated bar. Also on the menu will be small plates such as Crispy Squid Tempura and Wild Harbour Mussels, larger plates including Panko Breadcrumb Monkfish Burger and Roasted Asparagus with Poached Egg and Chorizo.

The restaurant is named after a weekly gathering of scientists and philosophers who met regularly throughout the 1770s at a dining club called ‘The Oyster Club’. Artworks in the restaurant illustrate the founders of the club.

“We found this site and fell in love with it. It’s right underneath The Ivy on a really good quality, busy street,” said Adam.

“The area is a really vibey, happening place to be. It will be a really nice approachable bar and restaurant offering high-end food.”

The restaurant has a 20-cover bar and 30-cover restaurant with the full menu served throughout. It is open all day from 12 noon with tables bookable in the lower restaurant area. The bar operates a no reservation policy.
