Fourth BID term consultation

Retail BID Birmingham has launched a month-long consultation programme to help shape its fourth term representing 400-plus member businesses.

The member consultation provides retail, hospitality and services businesses across Birmingham city centre the opportunity to feed back on the work of Retail BID and the projects it should prioritise.

This autumn, from 7th October to 4th November 2021, the BID will be asking its members to vote ‘yes’ in a ballot for its fourth term covering the next five years between 2022-2027. The consultation is an important part of the vote process and will help the BID shape its business plan.

Retail BID-funded projects include a city centre patrol team that works alongside West Midlands Police six days per week, digital marketing, family events and visitor trails, promotion and support services for businesses re-emerging from lockdown closures, greening the city centre with floral features, Christmas lights and seasonal decorations and a comprehensive year-round programme of street deep-cleansing of the retail area.

The next five year period from 2022 to 2027 includes new public transport connections and exciting events such as the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which will attract footfall to the city centre and showcase Birmingham to a global audience and our aim is to build on this in future years to the benefit of all of our business members.

The consultation survey is available to all BID members in printed or online formats and the BID team will be undertaking personal visits and emailing the survey to member businesses to be able to take part.
