New alternative giving scheme to help the homeless launches in Birmingham

A new alternative giving scheme is being piloted across Birmingham to help those who sleep rough on the streets.

The new scheme, Change Into Action aims to address rough sleeping across the West Midlands by supporting specialist homeless charities and street teams to provide further help and change circumstances for rough sleepers.

The campaign is jointly supported by Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA), led by the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street.

The public can support the scheme by donating through the Change into Action website or helping street teams to locate rough sleepers via the Street Link app.

All donations received will be securely kept by Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) before being assigned to local homeless charities to help individuals.
