The Mailbox goes from strength to strength with new openings

This month will see the Mailbox strengthen their shopping and dining offer with the opening of independent retailer Burrows & Hare and family-run Italian restaurant, Pinocchio’s.

Winner of Best New Retailer in the Drapers Independent Awards 2018, Burrows & Hare has made a name for itself with their impressive collection of premium clothing, grooming and lifestyle products with brands such as Sunspel, Oliver Spencer and A.B.C.L.

Burrows & Hare will join new independent retailer English Brands who opened last month. Known for their range of the finest handmade shoes and boots alongside high-end men’s fashion brands including Sanders, Loake, Gaziano & Girling and John White.

Joining the popular canalside restaurants, Pinocchio is the third Birmingham restaurant opened by Sicilian-born owner Erminio, who also owns La Galleria on Ethel Street. This Italian restaurant will showcase authentic Italian cuisine with an extensive menu of pastas, pizzas and risotto dishes as well as steak, lamb, veal and daily fish option, all perfectly complemented with a curated wine list and choice of beers.

The Mailbox is also home to Harvey Nichols’ 45,000sq ft flagship store, home furnishings retailers including Heal’s, MADE.COM, Bo Concept and many more on Level 1, Ribble Cycle’s, The Wedding Club and a range of exclusive designer fashion brands including BOSS, Paul Smith and Tommy Hilfiger, in addition to Everyman Cinema, Malmaison and many popular canalside bars and restaurants.

With the centre’s impressive showcase of luxury retailers, this has aided the increase of footfall to the Mailbox by 13% year on year, performing better than the trends on the high street, according to Milligan (co-owner of the Mailbox with Brockton Capital).

The future of the Mailbox will see a second phase of homewares which is set to be a stylish combination of traditional home and furniture retailers and complimentary lifestyle operators including audio visual, gifts and specialist hobbies such as art and wine.
