The Ivy launches in spring 2018 and is recruiting now

One of the most anticipated dining launches in Birmingham is fast approaching as The Ivy prepares to open its first restaurant in the city in the spring of 2018.

The restaurant group agreed a 25-year lease on the former Austin Reed unit opposite Birmingham Cathedral, and the adjacent store, most recently occupied by Louis Vuitton, and is now seeking to fill a number of skilled kitchen, front-of-house and management roles.

Hospitality recruitment website is listing various jobs required at the Birmingham venue, such as sous chefs, bar managers, reception and admin roles and restaurant manager.

Fit-out of the 7,000 sq ft unit is ongoing and the upmarket brasserie and bar will offer “extensive all-day menus featuring the best of modern British dishes in a relaxed atmosphere”.

Thy Ivy Birmingham website states: “Located on the bustling Temple Row in central Birmingham, the restaurant will make for an ideal spot to enjoy an accessible all-encompassing menu, serving British classics from dawn until dusk, including breakfast, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, light snacks, dinner and cocktails.”

The original Ivy restaurant, which marked its 100th anniversary in 2017, in London’s West End, is a long-term favourite for celebrity spotting.
