City Social set to return for the Christmas season

The city centre’s alternative Christmas market, City Social is returning to Suffolk Street Queensway Underpass from 15th November21st December.

City Social, which was originally led by Retail BID for Birmingham Weekender in 2017, will be transforming the underpass connecting the Mailbox into a festive food and drink festival.

There will be a wide range of local traders serving up food and drink including posh chips, Caribbean cuisine, gourmet burgers and waffles as well as winter Pimms, mulled wine and Baileys.

Shoppers in the city will also be able to pick up a few Christmas gifts with some retail stores selling leather bags, accessories, Christmas decorations and handmade Moroccan gifts.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, there will be live entertainment, acoustic sets and DJ’s. A new addition to City Social will be their Sunday Film Club where they will be showcasing classic Christmas films on a big screen including Home Alone, The Grinch, Elf, The Holiday and many more.

The event will trade seven days a week from 12noon – 7pm Sunday to Wednesday and 12noon – 9pm Thursday to Saturday.

City Social are offering businesses a private area to book free of charge for Christmas work parties. To enquire about booking an area, get in touch on
